I have frequently heard the authoritative proclamation, "The Bible is abundantly clear that homosexuality is condemned," but on closer examination I have found the evidence neither so abundant nor so clear. The questions that arise when families are confronted with homosexuality often lead to searching the Scriptures to discover what the Bible actually says. The following Bible studies are the result of some 18 years of careful and prayerful study, aided by the wisdom of scholars and theologians who have also been led to take a second look at traditional interpretations. They represent the conclusions I have reached. You may disagree with them, but my hope is that you will be inspired to study for yourself, asking God for a willingness to be open to the leading of His Holy Spirit, in order that we may not be guilty of driving our gay and lesbian members away from God.
